Plan worked out to further invigorate SAARC CCI

The leadership of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry has urged for enhanced role of the Private Sector to spur up economic cooperation in South Asia. The Vice Presidents Meeting of SAARC CCI held under the chair of Mr. Ismail Asif at New Delhi on June 14, 2014 worked out a plan to further invigorate the role of the organization to address the new challenges.


In addition to Senior Vice President Mr. Suraj Vaidya (Nepal), Immediate Past President Mr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney and Vice Presidents Mrs. Monowara Hakim Ali (Bangladesh), Mr. Karma Lotey (Bhutan), Mr. Ramesh Mutha (India), Mr. Iftikhar Ali Malik (Pakistan) attended the meeting convened by Secretary General Iqbal Tabish. The meeting aimed at reviewing the performance of SAARC CCI during recent past and evolved an action plan based on futuristic needs of the organization.

The Office Bearers of the apex organisation of SAARC during a daylong brainstorming session also evaluated the performance of the organization and expressed satisfaction over the performance of secretariat. They however, asserted for capacity building of the SAARC CCI Secretariat to further intensify its role in regional mechanism. Mr. Arpit,a Director, R &D, Samridhi, Nepal facilitated the workshop, which was also attended by officials of SAARC CCI, FICCI and MNCCI.
