The national and international exhibition expo under the title of Imam Abu Hanifa Trade Expo was organized by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment along with the collaboration of Acting Deputy Prime Minister, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, other high-ranking government officials, international and national entrepreneurs, and Deputy Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs of Kabul Municipality on December 1-8, 2022 in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The exhibition’s opening ceremony was attended by the senior officials of Afghanistan, members of the cabinet, national investors and businessmen, women entrepreneurs, and representatives of the embassies of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey.
In the opening session of the exhibition, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of Afghanistan, extended support for the private sector and urged national and international investors to invest in Afghanistan, stating that Afghanistan would provide all the necessary facilities for investors interested in investing in any sector.
The head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Mr. Younass Momand, highlighted that they are trying to open a permanent exhibition center of foodstuffs in Kabul, so that citizens can buy their foodstuffs at a cheap price. “High taxes are a backbreaker for businessmen and investors, and the Ministry of Finance should cooperate with businessmen and investors in reducing taxes and fines”, added Mr. Momand.

Mr. Shafiqullah Atai, Executive Chairman of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said that Imam Abu Hanifah's national and international exhibition featured over 600 production companies, and businesspeople from neighboring nations were also present.
In his address, Mr. Khairuddin Mayel, Vice President (Afghanistan) SCCI, cited that Imam Abu Hanifah's national and international exhibition is the nation's largest trade fair ever held in the country.
He further shared that the manufacturing sector of Afghanistan proved that they have an enormous potential in production processes thereby progressing in national and international trade. He added that the exhibition was able to display country's manufactured products in various sectors for the citizens. Mr. Mayel encouraged the citizens of Afghanistan to use domestic products that would strengthen the country’s production processes and generate employment opportunities for young Afghan people.

Approximately 600 domestic and foreign companies participated in the exhibition representing various sectors such as precious and semi-precious stones, food and non-food items, metals, women’s handicrafts, carpets, and other Afghan productions were exhibited. Thousands of national and international businessmen participated in the Trade Expo of Imam Abu Hanifa from different countries of the world, including the representatives of the embassies of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey.
